ReplyDeleteA little behind in posting here. Will try to do better and will do better.
> Have let the sasCommunity Advisory Board know about
http://sasCommunity.blogspot.com and its purpose.
I am a member of the Advisory Board and will be in D.C. in March
to communicate to 4,000 SAS users in our booth and panel discussion.
> Will send an eMail note to two brothers and Stuart Bisk and also
Richard McBride (Director of our Regional Family History Center) about
directions and plans for "Families Indexing Families" users group
of California so we can review to-be-written paragraphs on it.
> Katie Gale notes that Labs.FamilySearch.org has directions also.
Which is better, FaceBook or Blogspot-Circles?
ReplyDeleteOur eldest daughter Carrie (and her super-Dad husband) have decided they don't have time to enter to a 'blogspot' at this time in their lives; and that FaceBook for Carrie will suffice. Her Mom Lynnette (superGrandma) is also a beginner on Facebook(sp). So I told Carrie that I hope she doesn't mind, but we will ask her to [how do you do underscore] NOT have a blogspot in our "circle of love and support" but rather be our test-case for Face-book in case it eclipses blogspots by Google Inc.
You may also be interested in knowing that I too will be getting into your face[book] because of the importance of "social networks" which we are learning about at the Trivani Tech two-day seminar.
You can visit our new www.myTrivani.com/CharlieShipp for awesome revelations.
Think about it; then ponder on it; then act!
ReplyDeleteConsider adding to this blogspot those inspired ideas
that are just beginning with you. They need more
development before taking action: hence "Pondering".
. . . Rush gets serious but remains positive
With Porkulus riding on top of Bailout and more coming,
the question is open: will we pay or just our kids . . .
America remains great and strong, but will we wake up?
Sean, Rush, Glenn, other Conservatives note that YOU
are the secret ingredient in your own success!
. . . Social Networks can be a Business Advantage
YouTube, MySpace, blogspots, FaceBook are new on the scene
and provide competitive edge to consultants and business.
(1) People; . . . (2) Tech; . . . (3) People & Technology.
You can be there too. Ask us about Trivani for
. . . (1) Purpose: sponsor children of the world;
. . . (2) Health: design products that do no harm;
. . . (3) Prosperity: we benefit everyone with hard work.
Consider adding to this list of ideas to further ponder, develop, ACT!
Look at that! It's been more than a year since posting here; can you believe that? Seems hard to believe; Time Flies When You Are Having Fun.
ReplyDeleteNot that we haven't been having Payers, Pondering, and More Prayers .!.
We recently concluded a successful Family History one-day Seminar:
http://www.GLforebears.com
There will be some contributions to the seminar posted there soon.
Our keynote speaker was Steve W. Anderson, marketing manager of FamilySupport (SLC). Then there were 20 classes (five at a time, concurrently). We taught two of them on Indexing: 1. Learning the docs for research, such as birth, marriage, death certificates and Census records, mainly the latter. 2. Penmanship of 1850-1920, pulling from examples of Census Indexing and going over tip-off clues of CAP- and lower-case lettering. We joined the Master Penmanship org for $25.
I'm calling myself on an iLDS electronic-Mission [eMission] to be an Indexing Evangelist. Hope that is OK; I'll visit Elder Ballard about that; and also Steve W. Anderson who used to be our son-David's YM pres.
Another area of current interest and prayer is App Dev for iPhone
with my mentor Kirk Paul Lafler. We are studying methodologies of the development cycle and will be attending the professional App Dev conference in Sept. I am also attending the monthly meeting of LAPUD ::
http://www.lapug.com/
You can join and participate remotely, so to speak.
Lastly for now, we have 14 grandkids now with the birth of Elliott to David and Jamie. We are taking a break from service at the Los Angeles Temple for the months of July and August (we have served three terms, two years each, ending with Lynnette in leadership) and also the Southern California Mormon Choir takes a nine-week break; hence we will have time to travel to CA-Apple-Valley, Utah, Idaho, and Kansas to see all the grandchildren and their awesome parents, so great are they.
SO THERE IS A LOT TO PONDER AND PRAY (about).
In our travels, we can spend time in SLC where you find the only Family History Library (LDS); Lynnette and I are directors of our stake family history center (not 'Library') and there are 4,400 of those, worldwide. FYI there are 13 Regional Family History Centers, and ours will re-open this summer, w/ldr Richard McBride.
Just had an idea: have a royal dedication w/PR for the L.A. RFHC.
It could follow with light refreshments and an open-house.
Our general authority and recorder of the Temple could give the prayer. I don't suppose we would give the Hallelujah Shout, but we might.
I know the Angels and those that wait will :: tears in our eyes as we type.
So when we visit Utah Valley and SL Valley, we will pursue work as INDEXING Evangelists; our grandchildren's other grandparents lead a team of 100 indexers in their ward (yes, just in one ward) and they indexed 500,000 last year. (We have also, God Be Praised!) We, also, are planning to present to the South Bay cities Genealogical Society (Torrance, CA).
